You can only have everything

Artist Statement

You can only have everything’ is a collaboration between her and her sisters, an exploration of their relationship. While tricking the viewers eye she looks at age difference from the knowing perspective of an older sibling. Focusing on their close connection, she elicits the different feelings and moods that emerge from focused time spent together. Through creating distinct narratives together, they create a new world out of their states of mind. What are the things that keep them connected? How does one understand another and create that bond?

Marcelina Roszkowski is a contemporary photographer who pushes the boundaries between fashion and fine art photography. Her work has a dream-like quality, often portraying her subjects’ vulnerability and innocence. While photographing her two younger sisters, she creates fantastical scenes that allow her to reflect upon the strong bond of intimacy between sisters.
